Kourtney Schott advises on state and local tax issues related to mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, adoption of new tax laws, and local tax developments. She helps assess our target companies’ SALT burden and recommend solutions to clients that support their overall deal objectives to ensure that their filing positions are consistent with sound business practices and the state’s applicable tax laws post-acquisition. Kourtney also helps our clients transform risk and compliance related to SALT into a business advantage by aligning their state tax plan with the investment strategy. She also has experience with issues related to abandoned and unclaimed property, income and franchise tax, payroll and employment tax, credits and incentives, and indirect tax. Before Leo, Kourtney worked at a Big 4 accounting firm’s Denver office.
