Bob is a tax attorney practicing in all areas of state & local tax for over 35 years. He has led due diligence and structuring efforts both for the Big Four and in-house at Fortune 50 companies, spanning manufacturing, finance, telecommunications, transportation, retail and e-commerce.
With expertise in a wide range of tax, Bob is ‘fluent’ in state & local income tax, sales & use tax, gross receipts tax, real & personal property tax, VAT/GST, federal & state unemployment taxes, unclaimed property/escheat, federal excise taxes (e.g., fuel, tobacco), real estate transfer taxes, alcohol excise taxes, and IFTA.
Bob has been a member of the Airline Transportation Agency’s (ATA) State Tax Committee, the Equipment Lessor’s Association Government Affairs Council and the American and New York State Bar Associations. He is formerly Vice-Chairman of the Hartford Institute’s Advisory Council for Multistate Taxation of Insurance Companies. He has spoken before the Committee On State Taxation (COST), the Tax Executive’s Institute (TEI), the Equipment Lessor’s Association (ELA), the Premiums Tax Conference (the “Reno” Conference), the Reinsurance Association of America and other taxpayer organizations.
Bob went to Duke University for his B.A. (cum laude), and obtained a Masters in Tax (LL.M.) from New York University School of Law.
