Scott Schapiro is Leo Berwick’s Employment Tax Leader. He has 37 years of payroll tax experience.
Before becoming a Strategic Advisor at Leo Berwick, Scott spent 25 years with KPMG, where he was the National Partner in Charge of the Employment Tax practice in the previous 12 years before his retirement in October of 2020. Since then, Scott has operated his own business focused solely on U.S. federal, state and local payroll taxation.
Scott works extensively with organizations on a variety of payroll/employment tax issues, including advising on restructuring/M&A positions, worker classification concerns, CARES Act eligibility, prior period remediation and tax controversy assistance.
