Brian Heard is a Managing Director in Leo Berwick’s US M&A State and Local Tax practice. He advises on property tax issues related to mergers and acquisitions, tax modeling, and after-transaction support, including property tax consulting and tax appeal services.
Leveraging over 23 years of experience in multi-state complex property tax consulting, Brian provides tax consulting on the impact of property taxes due to a specific transaction, including identifying potential exposure items, and tax modeling services. Brian also helps clients after the transaction by ensuring accurate assessments, identifying and securing tax savings opportunities, and representing clients on a local jurisdictional level throughout the appeal process.
Before joining Leo Berwick, Brian spent much of his career in public accounting with two global accounting firms. His experience includes developing and leading industry property tax teams for a major defense company and a construction materials company.
