Participation in these transactions has also included a focus on cross border transactions, inversion transactions, IPO’s, as well as cross-border financing arrangements.
Greg has over 40 years of experience in M&A tax and advises private equity funds as well as domestic and foreign corporations on the tax implications of acquisitions, debt offerings, spin-offs, redemptions, and recapitalizations. Prior to becoming a Senior Advisor to Leo Berwick Greg was the National Leader of M&A Tax at KPMG and BDO.
David served as a partner in KPMG’s tax practice for 15 years, including being the tax managing partner of a major metropolitan region, and has more than 35 years of tax and business experience. He has extensive experience working with global companies on cross-border tax issues as well as mergers and acquisitions.
Monte A. Jackel is nationally known for his expertise in the area of partnership taxation, where he has advised taxpayers ranging from Fortune 500 companies to closely-held businesses and their owners. Monte has practiced federal tax law for over 40 years in both the private sector and the Federal government.
Joe specializes in advising private equity, infrastructure funds, and corporate clients on numerous tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions including reorganizations, acquisition and disposition planning, cross border investments, repatriations, tax modeling, restructuring and bankruptcy tax planning.
David has over 30 years of business and tax experience with a focus on the state and local tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions. David provides buy-side and sell side pre-transaction tax due diligence services, acquisition structuring services, tax model review services, and post-transaction integration services for Leo Berwick's clients.
Connie was a US tax partner at a Big Four accounting firm where she specialized in U.S. and cross-border M&A tax structuring as well as tax information reporting such as FATCA and withholding tax compliance. She has significant experience in designing and executing financing structures, providing buyer-side tax due diligence assistance and managing complex tax compliance projects.
Scott has 36 years of payroll tax experience, prior to becoming a Senior Advisor at Leo Berwick, he spent the last 25 spent at a Big Four accounting firm with him being the National Partner in Charge of their Employment Tax practice for the last 12 years.
Anthony DaSilva, Jr
Tony has over two decades of experience counseling clients on the tax and regulatory issues impacting compensation and benefits arrangements. For clients involved in complex mergers and acquisitions, corporate joint ventures, private equity transactions and spin-offs, Tony counsels on the compensation, benefit and executive issues that arise pre- and post-transaction.
Javier regularly advises in matters of foreign trusts with U.S. beneficiaries, pre-immigration tax, and estate planning, planning for large gifts, and inheritances being received by U.S. persons from foreign persons or foreign estates, foreign investment in U.S. real estate and business interests, asset protection, and tax compliance and reporting.
Chief Financial Officer
Kara specializes in advising Fortune 500 corporations and government entities in financial and investment-related matters and has over a decade of consulting experience. Kara has been a CFA charterholder since 2012 and received her MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 2016. As CFO, Kara oversees the firm’s overall financial planning and performance, including evaluating co-investment opportunities and transactions.
